Safety Rules & Play Area Policies
Effective from: 1st February 2026
At Tiny Pits and Play, the safety of children, families, and caregivers is our highest priority. These Safety Rules and Play Area Policies are designed to create a clean, secure, and joyful environment for children of all ages, especially infants and toddlers.
By entering our facility or using our services, all guests agree to follow these rules.
4.1 ADULT SUPERVISION REQUIREMENT
Children must be supervised by a parent, guardian, or responsible caregiver at all times.
- Adults are responsible for monitoring their child’s behavior
- Staff members are present for safety oversight, not childcare
- Children may not be left unattended anywhere in the facility
Failure to provide proper supervision may result in removal from the play area without refund.
4.2 AGE-APPROPRIATE PLAY GUIDELINES
Our equipment is designed for specific age ranges to reduce injury risk.
- Soft play equipment is intended for children ages 0–5
- Ball pits are suitable for all ages with supervision
- Larger children should not play in infant-designated zones
Parents are responsible for ensuring children use equipment appropriate for their age and size.
4.3 HEALTH AND ILLNESS POLICY
To protect all families, children showing signs of illness should not enter the play area.
This includes:
- Fever
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Contagious rashes
- Persistent coughing or runny nose
Tiny Pits and Play reserves the right to deny entry for health and safety reasons.
4.4 CLEANLINESS AND HYGIENE STANDARDS
We follow strict cleaning and sanitizing procedures that meet industry standards.
- Equipment is cleaned regularly throughout the day
- Deep cleaning occurs after parties and rentals
- High-touch areas are disinfected frequently
Hand sanitizing is strongly encouraged before and after play.
4.5 FOOTWEAR AND CLOTHING RULES
Proper attire helps prevent slips, falls, and injuries.
- Shoes are not permitted on soft play equipment
- Socks are required for both children and adults
- Clothing should allow free movement
- Jewelry, sharp objects, and loose accessories are discouraged
Tiny Pits and Play is not responsible for lost or damaged personal items.
4.6 SAFE PLAY BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS
To ensure a safe experience for everyone:
- No rough play, pushing, or throwing objects
- No climbing on safety fences or walls
- No jumping into ball pits headfirst
- No food, drinks, or gum in play areas
Unsafe behavior may result in immediate removal from the play area.
4.7 EQUIPMENT USE RULES
All equipment must be used as intended.
- Do not move equipment without staff approval
- Follow posted signage and staff instructions
- Do not overload equipment beyond recommended limits
Damaged equipment must be reported immediately to staff.
4.8 BALL PIT SAFETY RULES
Ball pits are a favorite feature and require extra care.
- No diving or burying faces
- No throwing balls outside designated areas
- Children must sit or gently enter ball pits
Staff may temporarily close ball pits for cleaning or safety reasons.
4.9 FOOD, DRINKS, AND ALLERGIES
Food and drinks are restricted to designated areas only.
- No food or drinks in play zones
- Water bottles with secure lids are permitted outside play areas
- Parents are responsible for managing food allergies
Tiny Pits and Play is not a nut-free facility.
4.10 PARTY AND GROUP PLAY SAFETY
During parties and group events:
- Party hosts must help supervise guests
- Party time limits must be respected
- Decorations must not interfere with safety equipment
Excessive crowding or unsafe group behavior may require staff intervention.
4.11 RENTALS AND OFF-SITE SAFETY
For rented equipment used off-site:
- Clients must follow provided setup instructions
- Equipment must be placed on flat, safe surfaces
- Adult supervision is required at all times
Tiny Pits and Play is not responsible for injuries caused by improper setup or misuse.
4.12 EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
In case of an emergency:
- Staff are trained to respond quickly
- Emergency exits must remain clear at all times
- Parents are responsible for their child during evacuations
Emergency procedures are posted throughout the facility.
4.13 INJURY REPORTING
If an injury occurs:
- Notify staff immediately
- An incident report may be completed
- Medical attention is the responsibility of the parent or guardian
Tiny Pits and Play is not liable for minor injuries resulting from normal play activity.
4.14 STAFF AUTHORITY AND ENFORCEMENT
Staff members have the authority to:
- Enforce safety rules
- Remove unsafe participants
- Close play areas if needed
Failure to follow staff instructions may result in removal without refund.
4.15 ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Parents and guardians acknowledge that:
- Play involves physical activity
- Minor injuries may occur
- Participation is voluntary
By entering the play area, you assume all risks associated with play activities.
4.16 POLICY UPDATES
Tiny Pits and Play reserves the right to:
- Modify these policies at any time
- Apply changes immediately
Continued use of the facility indicates acceptance of current policies.
